Roz Savage is currently the first woman to sail solo across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. She is attempting to win the hat trick by sailing solo across the Indian Ocean. The former investment banker from Cheshire left Perth on the 31st March 2011, heading for Mumbai which should take approximately 4 months to complete

Ms Savage will row for 12 hours per day in three hours stints, stopping for rest breaks to eat between shifts for an hour each time. Home for the next 4 months will be a 7m (23ft) rowing boat. As Ms Savage will not be able to stop for breaks the tiny cabin will be her only respite. Pure Eau are fascinated to learn that Ms Savage has a desalinator on her boat to make salt water drinkable. Desalination refers to any of several processes which remove some amount of salt and other minerals from water. This is a similar process to Reverse Osmosis which is how Pure Eau ensures that the water our customers drink from our water coolers and water filters is pure and free from toxins and impurities. Food for Ms Savage will consist of a six-month supply of freeze dried meals with fruit and nut bars, and she will also grown bean sprouts in a small pot.
